Featured Programs

Baal Perazim Wellness, Inc and Baal Perazim Wellness & Health Services develops and manages community-based programs that break through barriers to providing wellness & health services to ALL Chicagoans. Take a look at a few of our ongoing efforts programs to confront the inequality, disparity, and inequity of primary health care services throughout Chicago, and beyond.

COVID-19 Community Assessment, Testing and Vaccination Centers

COVID-19 Community Assessment, Testing and Vaccination Centers

The COVID-19 Community Assessment, Testing and Vaccine Centers provide communities disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 with low barrier testing and vaccinations. The Centers are designed to increase testing and provide relief to health systems throughout Chicagoland. Testing appointments preferred, but not mandatory.

Men's Sexual Health

Men's Sexual Health

Men's Sexual Health refers to the promotion of well-being in men, which allows them to fully participate in and enjoy sexual activity. Through the lenses of wellness, Baal Perazim helps men to address their sexual health, which encompasses their physical, psychological, interpersonal and social wellbeing. We offer a comprehensive menu of services that are specifically adapted for men from every walk of life; our culturally competent staff draws upon over thirty years of serving the LGBTQ community, providing an unparalleled amount of knowledge and sensitivity to this important work.

The Wellness Home Initiative

The Wellness Home Initiative

The Wellness Homes Initiative began in 2018 to respond to troubling discrepancies in medical care throughout Chicago, which have led to massive inequities in health outcomes. There are many reasons for this phenomenon, many of which are extremely complicated and have long, troubling histories. Learn more about how our Wellness Homes are making a difference.

Booster Shot: Do you need one?

Currently, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is recommending that moderately to severely immunocompromised people receive an additional dose. This includes people who have:

  • Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood;
  • Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system;
  • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system;
  • Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome);
  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection; Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response.

People should talk to their healthcare providers about their medical condition, and whether getting an additional dose is appropriate for them.
